RV Campground Site Renovations

Naval Base Ventura County – Point Mugu, CA

The existing RV Campground Site is currently subject to recurrent flooding during rain events. The overall project goals are to establish existing conditions and assess level of grading and improvements needed to alleviate and minimize flooding of the site. MAI was contracted to provide aerial targets for photogrammetry tied into the existing base survey control network. The project posed some logistical challenges due to it starting in the rainy season, when varying tides continue to disrupt and manipulate the site’s surrounding coastal topography. MAI’s staff coordinated with the Client and the photogrammetry consultant to find the most suitable locations for aerial targets placed in this type of terrain, and assisted in procuring an accurate topographic survey of existing conditions for the team’s use in designing the necessary upgrades to meet the End User’s goals for the project.
